We've often seen it in Bollywood movies, especially if it's an ancient setting that a woman is taking a bath in a tub brimming with flowers. Well we may feel that the art director coaxed the director into adding a splash of colour to achieve a splendid frame but the truth is that flowers are highly beneficial for enhancing our beauty. Use some of these flower treatments to become as beauteous as a flower itself.

1) Rose

Rose is the Meryl Streep of flowers. It's charming, pleasant and highly versatile as it can be used to mend broken hearts, it can also be used to mark special occasions, it can effortlessly make your house look pretty, it boasts of one of the best fragrances in the world and it can also make you look radiant. Phew! That was exhaustive. However, that's true. Rose contains Vitamin C and that makes it an ideal candidate for curing dry skin.

What to do?

To attain re hydrated and soothing skin use rose petals infused in water to make a facial toner.

How to do it?

Boil two cups of water. Once the water is sufficiently hot remove it from the stove and add rose petals to it and cover the bowl with a lid. Let the petals soak in the water for at least 30 minutes. Now strain this concoction and you have your rose facial toner ready to be used. Now use this toner and bid good bye to patchy red rashes from acne and heat.

2) Chamomile

It's known that chamomile tea is a great stress buster but chamomile flower is also wonderful in reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Chamomile is known to have brilliant skin clarifying properties as it contains alpha-bisabolol.

What to do?

Make a mixture of chamomile tea for face wash.

How to do it?

Add two Chamomile tea bags to one cup of hot water. Now let the tea bags and water cool down to room temperature and after half an hour strain the mixture into a bottle to be used as a rejuvenating face wash. To reduce puffiness from tired eyes, place a cool tea on each eye and see the desired effect within 10 minutes.

3) Marigold

Marigold not only adds a joyous touch to most of the Indian celebrations but this festive flowers also help in protecting skin from advanced thinning and also add a buoyant glow to your skin.

What to do?

Apply marigold face mask to attain instant glow.

How to do it?

After separating petals from the stem, mix the marigold petals with one tablespoon of honey and one tablespoon of milk. Mix all the condiments until it turns into a smooth paste and apply the mixture on your face. Leave it on your face for 20 minutes and then rinse it off using warm water.

4) Lavender

Lavender is renowned for its peaceful colour and the soothing effect of its aroma on our mind and soul. This incredible flower is not just used to deal with insomnia, anxiety, depression and fatigue but studies have revealed that lavender is helpful is curing hair fall.

What to do?

Prepare lavender oil for beautiful hair and skin.

How to do it?

Heat essential oil and add lavender flowers in it. Now bring the two to boil and let it cool. Strain the concoction and store the oil which can be applied on skin and hair.

5) Hibiscus

This gorgeous flower, Indian Ayurveda medicine has always promoted hibiscus as a flower that deals with damaged hair. Due to high content of mucilage polysaccharides, hibiscus is excellent for scalp conditioning.

What to do?

Make hibiscus oil for healthy hair.

How to do it?

Boil hibiscus flowers in sesame or coconut oil and then leave it to cool. Now use this oil to massage into hair and scalp. After an hour of the application of the hibiscus oil, wash the scalp with a mild shampoo.
