When to Bring Your Potted Plants Inside-and How
Temperatures are dropping-finally, fitfully-toward
Apartment Therapy has a good checklist for making sure that your plants-and your home, and the other plants already inside it-weather this transition well:
Check for bugs and disease.
You don't want to spread that to the plants inside your home.
Make the transition gradual.
For the first few days, bring plants in at night but put them outside again during the day.
Prepare your space.
Find a sunny space for plants that are used to getting the sun's full rays. Maybe even clean your windows.
Only bring in the thriving.
As Apartment Therapy puts it, "if they're already having problems outdoors, it's only going to get worse indoors." Otherwise, it may be time to let go.
