Ask For Recommendations to Avoid Taking Advantage of a Meal Offer

When someone else is paying for your meal, ask your host for recommendations on what they like to set the price-range.

In most social settings, when there is no commonly-established etiquette, the traditional rule is "follow the host." To that end, if someone-say a boss or in-law-offers to pay your way at a restaurant, the last thing you want to do is order a 16 oz. steak while your host sticks to drowning in unlimited breadsticks.

LPT: If someone is buying you a meal but you don't know what price-range to order in, ask them what they recommend. | Reddit
