According to the research team at Hopper , the airfare price-tracking app , domestic round-trip tickets for Labor Day weekend are currently averaging about $318-which is as cheap as they're going to get. About 25 days before the holiday seems to be the sweet spot.
The good prices will likely hold out for the rest of the week, but after that you'll see a steady rise in airfare prices (after a $4 increase each day). Then, during the final two weeks leading up to Labor Day, prices will spike up $15 per day. So don't delay! To score the best deal possible, plan to leave on Saturday, September 2 and return on Wednesday, September 6. And if you're not sure where to go, Hopper suggests Cleveland, Long Beach, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, Atlanta, Orlando, New York City, Fort Lauderdale, and Burbank all have the best bargains.
