Bring Magnets in Your Bag to Make a Hostel Stay Easier
Hostels are an inexpensive option when you want to stretch your travel budget and don't mind sharing space with strangers (who might even become your friends). The downside is that if you want to hang your clothes or towels up to dry, you're fighting for the same common drying spots with everyone else in the hostel. Toss a couple small magnets in your bag and you have this problem solved!
As redditor watchitbub shares, many hostels have metal bed frames, lockers, doorways, or other furniture that you can use these magnets on. If you have a bit of rope, you might even be able to rig up a clothesline to air dry your stuff after a sink wash.
You can also use these magnets to hang items you want to be able to easily grab, like a city map. If you're concerned about the magnets creating wear and tear on your towel or clothes, glue them to a plastic chip clip or get clips that are already magnetic (like these ones from Amazon). Be mindful when packing your magnets and keep them away from anything that they could mess with, like magnetic strips on credit cards or plastic room keys.
