Microsoft's Wunderlist Replacement, To-Do Is Now Available

Thorin Klosowski, Gawker Media

Windows/Web/iOS/Android: Microsoft has released a public preview for its new to-do app, aptly called To-Do. This is ostensibly Microsoft's version of Wunderlist , which the company acquired back in 2015.

To-Do is still a work in progress, but right now you can create to-do lists, set up reminders, and track projects. Aside from the looks, To-Do also brings over Wunderlist's intelligent suggestions feature that recommends tasks. The app does this with the My Day feature, which gives you a fresh list of stuff to do every day. While it's still the first preview build, To-Do has enough in it that's worth a look, especially if you're an Office user. It's lacking a few features still, like list sharing and collaboration, but that's all on the way.

If you're worried about Wunderlist, then know that at least for the time being, Wunderlist will continue to exist, though To-Do already has an import feature to bring all your lists over. Still, don't hold onto Wunderlist for too long, as Microsoft points out that once it's confident in To-Do, it will retire Wunderlist for good.
