Two Ways to Make Trump's Tweets a Little Less Awful

Leigh Anderson, Gawker Media

The president's Twitter account is unprecedented as a communications strategy, a stream-of-consciousness series of communiques that strike fear into the heart of any American who wants to, I dunno, avoid war or keep on having a Constitution. But his Twitter rants, as bizarre and as unhinged as they frequently are ("covfefe") are at least a sort-of window into his thought processes. I mean, I'd rather know what he's thinking than not know.

But that doesn't make the experience of reading these childish, misspelled rants any easier. Fortunately, there's a new Chrome plug-in that automatically converts the text of his tweets to crayon font.

Childish on my part? A little. But the font reminds me that we're not dealing with a functioning adult here, and we shouldn't ever pretend we are.

Prefer a more serious strategy for getting through the president's personal news channel? Try following @RealPressSecBot , which gives you all Trump's tweets formatted as official White House statements. This also doesn't make them go down any easier, but the juxtaposition of the format and the juvenile content serves as a daily reminder: This is not normal.
