Combine a Mason Jar and Juice Carton into a Resealable Dispenser

Mason jars are great for holding cleaning supplies and cooking ingredients, but they aren't great at dispensing them in moderation. Adding the top of a juice carton to your jars though can give you the best of both worlds.

To make this work, you'll need an open-ended mason jar ring, unless you want to cut a wide circle out of of a normal lid. Use the ring to trace a circle on the top of an empty orange juice carton, then cut the lid out, keeping the spout a few centimeters away from the edge, if possible. Finally, press the new lid into the mason jar ring, and screw it onto the jar. The newly-created dispenser is ideal for holding salt, flour, or sugar, as it can pour small quantities easily when you're working on a recipe. It would also be ideal for cleaning supplies like DIY powdered dishwashing detergent; just be sure you label your jars well if you're using a lot of them.
