It's Time to Eliminate Your Facebook News Feed
Ah 2017, the year fake news took over our timelines, and the attendant hand-wringing took over our lives. It's not as if we needed more things to disturb us on Facebook-we've been FOMO-gnashing our teeth to dust for a decade, after all. As this year comes to a close, I encourage you to gird yourself for the certain onslaught to come. Take two seconds and install
News Feed Eradicator for Facebook
When you log in to
You've got access to your messages, notifications and groups; you can see whose birthday it is in case you want to get in there and "HBD" with the masses, but there's no news feed. No pics from the Boxing Day party you weren't invited to, no exhausted-but-happy childhood friend holding her new baby in a hospital gown, no political rage posts, no...I can't even think of another example of what you might find in your news feed because it's been so long since I've actually seen mine.
Is it extreme to totally eradicate your feed? Perhaps. Are you going to encounter the same BS on Twitter and Instagram? Definitely. Is your news feed still intact when you log in on mobile? Oh yes. But you can reduce the likelihood of seeing stuff there that makes you nuts by following accounts that actually make you happy. My suggestions? Try UPS Dogs -and Lifehacker , of course.
